Hey lady! It’s been awhile!
Let me tell you, starting this new teaching position has really kept me super busy over the last few weeks. I’ve been so consumed and caught up in the endless workload that I’ve lost sight of my bigger and more personal goals. I find myself dog tired at the end of the day, which forces me to compromise my time to update my project goals because I’m tending to my 9-year old son or buried in a pile of last week’s assignments that still need to be marked. This grading papers thing seems like an endless cycle.
Speaking of that, how many times have you dealt with days where you felt…eh, or less than average? In the words of TLC, you feel so un-pretty. Doing all of this makes me feeling blah sometimes. It happens to all of us, even the most confident.
Before you know it, you’re half way through the week with a personal to-do list partially achieved and a gazillion other responsibilities to handle like paying bills, taking your children to their lessons or trying to sneak in some self-care time.
Have you done your mirror check?
Mirror checks are so crucial, ladies. I know it may seem superficial to some, the idea of checking yourself in the mirror. I personally don’t think so, however, because sometimes you have to literally look yourself in the face as a reminder of who you are.
You can’t continue to allow outside influences to determine how you see yourself in this world. You are too awesome for all of the shenanigans. A mirror check will remind you that you are more than the limitations you’ve set before yourself.
Mirror checks remind me of how fabulous I am. It reminds me of my greatness in the midst of the consistent chaos floating around me, allowing me to breathe, smile and feel confident. It reminds me of how far I’ve come and where God is taking me. It reminds me of my strength, resilieance and remarkable ability to go after my dreams.
You are fly, lady, and don’t you forget it!
What can you do right now:
- Grab your bag mirror or go to the nearest one
- Stand in front of the mirror or put it directly in your face.
- Start speaking life altering affirmations over your life with a passion!
Speak it loud and proud (If you can):
- I have so much strength.
- I am amazing.
- I’m confident
- I’m successful.
- I am gifted in multiple areas.
- I am blessed in abundance by the most high.
- I can do all things through Christ!
- Thank God for my breakthrough.
- I have unlimited growth, purpose and potential because I’m a truly amazing woman!
So, instead of telling yourself what you’re not and feeling low, go in the mirror and speak life into the situation by telling yourself who YOU really are because the devil is a liar!
You you are that chick that nothing and nobody can stop. You got this!
